SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Rep. Ron Paul has filed papers in Texas to create a presidential exploratory committee that will allow him to raise money, the Associated Press reported late Thursday. The nine-term congressman from southeast Texas was the Libertarian nominee for president in 1988 and received more than 400,000 votes, the AP reported. This time he plans to run as a Republican.
This is fantastic news. Finally a Republican in the race who will
state the case for limited government in the debates. I urge you all
to join me in the GOP so that you may vote for Ron Paul.
I'm supporting him even though I think he is wrong on the Iraq war.

Derek,
If I lived in New Hampshire or Iowa, and it looked like a heated race, I'd be tempted. But California is so large, and its primary comes so late in the game, that a primary vote for an establishment party presidential candidate accomplishes next to nothing. Under such circumstances, I think it's better to stick with the most consistent voice for freedom and vote Libertarian.
Love & liberty,

I have no interesting in joining the GOP, but I would be interested to know how we might help support Ron Paul's campaign.
