REvised ballot arg (Prop F) [1 Attachment]

Hi All. Jawj has come up with her own version of the argument against Prop F (Short-Term Rentals), which I like better than mine (which needed some editing anyway), so let's go with hers, which I copied below.
San Francisco’snewly enacted “Short-term Residential Rental Law” takes this year’s Golden Garrotteaward for city government doing what it does best – inventing new forms ofregulation, new crimes, and new ways of controlling us. Think you might like to rent a room to a tourist? Think your family might like to stay in a neighborhoodhome when they visit you? Thinkagain. As with Uber and otherpeople-to-people alternatives, city government is determined to stop a successfultrend in order to protect vested economic interests. But home rentals don’t replace hotels; theyjust give people new alternatives. The ballot measure before you is death by a thousandcuts. The basic regulatory regime, complete with new government agency to implement it, was created by stealth inMay of this year. This ballot measurewill be one of an endless series of tweaks designed to strangle individual initiative. It reduces from 90 to 75 the number of daysper year the rentals are permitted. Itadds more burdensome red tape, including notice posting and widespread mailings. It expands the number of people who can sueto enforce the law to include any neighbor living within a certain distance, therebycreating a new weapon for ordinary neighbor disputes. This regulation needs repeal, not expansion. VOTE NO ON F! Libertarian Party of San Francisco

WOW….this is fantastic. Well done Jawj.
