Dear Sally,
I appreciate your thoughtful and logical response. You have addressed my
thinking precisely. I do not wish to derail your demonstration with a
controversial perspective, yet I could not in good conscience attend an
anti-tax rally without highlighting the eroding effect of funding a
perpetual "War on Terror" has on our tax base.
Consequently, I'll follow your wise suggestion to attend another rally (the
Libertarian Party tax protest at 4 PM at the Montgomery St. BART stop).
You're welcome to join us of, course, and it would be good to meet you.
Warm regards, Michael

Hi Sally,
Thank you for taking time to consider Michael's query. In the
interests of genuine respect for each others' concerns which you
mention in your thoughtful response to him, are you likewise giving
the message to your conservative allies and speakers, that if they
really want to bring a sign or say something that goes against the
libertarian point of view as protesting the "War on Terror" goes
against the neo-conservative POV, and cannot in good conscience attend
without doing so, that perhaps this is not the event for them to attend?
Love & Liberty,
((( starchild )))
P.S. - I am still interested in speaking at the April 15 Tea Party, or
failing that, having a different speaker to represent (L)ibertarians.
You indicated to me that you didn't think that would work for this
event, but you haven't said why not. Right now you have two Republican
speakers (that I know of), plus a Republican MC. I would welcome the
opportunity for us to work together on an event that is potentially
sending a timely and important pro-freedom message, but it is
difficult to feel welcome or respected if there does not appear to be
an effort on both sides to find common ground and share the space. I
invited you before to give me a call, and would still be glad of the
chance to talk with you directly. Email as a medium is I think more
susceptible to miscommunication and less conducive to positive
resolution of sensitive matters. You can reach me at (415) 621-7932,
or if I'm not at that number, try (415) 368-8657.
