The new corporatism is this adjacency between new media and the democratic
party. many of us live and work in silicon valley and I am personally privy
to this biased attitude amongst some of these precious progressives (ahem
regressives). there is nothing more threatening to democracy than control
of thought and speech - even on private platforms - for the moment these
places are the new public square. in the long run markets will create new
platforms. we’re only 10 years into this smartphone world. but as
libertarians, it poses an interesting question on government regulation of
big tech. personally as a libertarian I don’t favor regulation of media, no
chance I would support that. but it’s the responsibility of honest people
across the spectrum to recognize and admit what is right in front of our
eyes.
