READ ME ASAP

I hate to see Rand Paul pandering to Obamaphobiacs. Whatever dude is in the Oval office is so not important. Meanwhile it is the same DOJ that started gun-walking with Bush that wants more power under Obama.

But he can't attack the unelected police-state so he attacks somebody who is elected.

It doesn't get more ominous.

Dear Nina

Obama is spying on you, and you don't even know it.

He can read your emails, look at your text messages, and

listen to your phone calls - and he doesn't even need a warrant to do it.

Under President Obama, the surveillance state is expanding at

an alarming rate to the point that virtually every man, woman, and child in the country is under government surveillance.

And FISA -

which allows warrantless wiretapping and government eavesdropping on American citizens - is vital to the expansion of Obama's spy-nation.

That is why I have proposed the Fourth Amendment Protection Act as an amendment to the FISA reauthorization, which is expected to

be voted on TONIGHT.

Watch the video explanation of the Fourth

Amendment Protection Act here, then call your U.S. Senators and DEMAND they support the Fourth Amendment Protection Act.

My amendment to FISA extends Fourth Amendment guarantees to electronic communications and requires specific warrants

granted through FISA courts in order to obtain this information.

This amendment is VITAL to protect American citizens against unwarranted

invasions of privacy by Obama's surveillance state.

Without this amendment, FISA will give Obama a blank check to spy on any American at

any time for any reason.

You and I cannot allow this to happen.

That's why it's vital that you call your U.S.

Senator and DEMAND they support the Fourth Amendment Protection Act IMMEDIATELY!

Tell them to stop Obama from using FISA to

trample our Constitutional rights.

In liberty,

Rand Paul

P.S. Obama is expanding his surveillance state at an alarming rate, and FISA reauthorization is the

cornerstone of that expansion.

Please watch my video, then call your U.S.

Senators and DEMAND they support the Fourth Amendment Protection Act IMMEDIATLEY!

And if at all possible, please chip-in a

generous contribution to help RandPAC fight against Obama's surveillance state.

It isn't straight forward. Obama is not spying on me and reading my e-mails.

Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

America's Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 ("FISA" Pub.L. 95-511, 92 Stat. 1783, enacted October 25, 1978, 50 U.S.C. ch.36, S. 1566) is an Act of Congress (signed by President Jimmy Carter) which prescribes procedures for the physical and electronic surveillance and collection of "foreign intelligence information" between "foreign
powers" and "agents of foreign powers" (which may include American
citizens and permanent residents suspected of being engaged in espionage and violating U.S. law on territory under United States control).[1] The law does not apply outside the US.

When said and done, it is a gigantic government jobs program. After 35 years, do you think this has saved America? Saved American lives? Hell no!

Meanwhile, The Fourth Amendment Protection Act, whatever it really is, behind the rhetoric, and by it's amendment to FISA, brings FISA into the federal specifications of what the 4th Amendment is.....by administrative procedure, instead of by the language of the Constitution.

This is crazy!!

Meanwhile the gigantic government jobs program lurches forward.

These deals-with-the-devil are how we are in this mess! Congress had a special session to pass FISA, to ensure continuing government jobs. Neither it nor Obama gives a damn about spying on me. Nor has it ever done any good for anything except distracting an easily fooled population.

Without the re-authorization of FISA, government jobs would be lost. Paul's efforts to protect the Constitution, within the re-authorization of FISA, is like pursuing good health by finding different ways to smoke cigarettes.

And the way this issue is presented is like the bull-fighter waving the red cape away from his body.:Obamaphobia. The bull charges the cape and the matador thrusts another banderillas into the bleeding and exhausted animal.

"If the
presidente decides that the bull is extraordinarily weak or unwilling to fight, he may order the use of black banderillas, considered to be a
disgrace to the breeder.
Stage 3 – Tercio de Muerte

Matador in the tercio de muerte

In the final stage, the tercio de muerte ("death third"), the matador re-enters the ring alone with a small red cape or muleta in one hand and a sword in the other. This cape is stretched with a wooden dowel and, in right-handed passes, the sword as well"

Sound familiar??

The death of the bull is a result of his failure to recognize the real target, again and again, and again, and again until bleeding and exhausted, he is put out of his misery by the the tiny matador.

I've watched this this for forty years. I've been hoping to find a group with a level
of sophistication necessary to do something else.

John

Although this is better, it still doesn't make the point that Congress is giving more money to government and THAT is the driving economic engine for the destruction of our liberty. Government MAKES MONEY by taking away our liberty.

Government doesn't have liberty to give, no matter how much money it gets. Government only takes liberty away.

Congress Has Enough Time to Keep Spying on You, Forever

Good morning, misgoverned nation! You will be
utterly unsurprised to learn that the same United States Senate
that hasn't passed a (legally required) budget resolution since
2009, that legislates via perpetual self-made crises and lards
nearly all laws with brazenly
fictitious sunset provisions and distant spending cuts, has
managed to fit into its busy schedule of anti-gun press conferences and drunk-driving arrests an "unusual
special session" to reauthorize the FISA Amendments
Act of 2008 before the law turns into a pumpkin on Jan. 1.
The Act,
which Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) had attempted to re-authorize without debate, allows for the
federal government to spy on U.S. citizens without a warrant,
without probable cause, and without even informing the allegedly
relevant oversight bodies in Congress as to the number of Americans
being spied on.
The Senate re-authorization debate yesterday lasted seven hours, and resulted in the shooting down of three sensible amendments. Sen. Patrick Leahy
(D-Vermont) attempted to cut the proposed extension from five years
to three; that lost 52-38. Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) proposed
requiring the attorney general to disclose "significant" FISA court
interpretations of surveillance law; that lost 54-37. And Sen. Rand
Paul (R-Kentucky) proposed extending Fourth Amendment protections to electronic
communications.

And another, but worse article, it continues to avoid the subject of giving more money to the police-state and instead presents the issue in terms of how the police-state will be policing.

How will we be forced to "smoke those cigarettes"? Full strength or with filters? Meanwhile, keep smoking. We'll get this worked out in a few years.

Snark:
"Oops! You have emphysema...too bad...yer dead. Bring out more cigarettes for the next contestant."

It couldn't be more obvious if it were a game show.

Congress, at Last Minute, Drops Requirement to Obtain Warrant to Monitor Email
December 25, 2012
Print Version

Source: All Gov.
The federal government will continue to access Americans’ emails without a warrant, after the U.S. Senate dropped a key amendment to legislation now headed to the White House for approval.
Last month, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved an amendment attached to the Video Privacy Protection Act Amendments Act (which deals with publishing users’ Netflix information on Facebook
pages) that would have required federal law enforcement to obtain a
warrant before monitoring email or other data stored remotely (i.e., the cloud).
The Senate was set to approve the video privacy bill along with the
email amendment, which would have applied to a different law, the 1986 Electronic Communications Privacy Act. But then senators decided for reasons unknown to drop the amendment.
Currently, the government can collect emails and other cloud data
without a warrant as long as the content has been stored on a
third-party server for 180 days or more. Federal agents need only
demonstrate that they have “reasonable grounds to believe” the
information would be useful in an investigation.

So did you call urging your Congressperson to defund FISA? And yes, I agree with you that saying "Obama is spying" is the kind of non-helpful rhetoric we libertarians need to avoid using.
