Right on Jay,
This is going to be a big blow to the conservatives who thought they would be able to use government power to enforce their vision of marriage. While I personally believe marriage as "Holy Matrimony" can only exist between a man and a women, equal protection under the law prevails in the political realm. As conservatives tried to use the law to grant privilege to marriage while depriving others of the benefits, it only serves them right that the power that they gave the law is turned against them. Had they only kept church and state separate as it should have been, they wouldn't be in this mess. Serves them right for trusting the state. Gay couples should take note if they think the law is going to "protect" them long-term too.
