Thanks, Ron. It's not hard to imagine similar observations, very early
in human history, having been one source of the idea of life after
death. Obviously brain activity doesn't cease abruptly, but gradually
deteriorates; in fact, as some of us are aware, that process starts not
just seconds, but decades, before death.

  The fact of brain death starting at an early age is definitely demonstrated by our current crop of "brain dead" fearless leaders.
