Coincidentally, I was just going through some of Rothbard's lectures on Mises.org, and had just listened to this one on the way to a Libertarian petition-siging event yesterday. Rothbard's views seem to roughly parallel those of Rodney Stark in the article you posted (below). That is, "idealogy matters"; and that Judeo-Christianity and more particularly Catholicism, are in part responsible for a lot of Western economic thought.
