RE: [lpsf-discuss] Re: Anti-Eminent Domain Initiatives --> Neighbors For Property Rights launch meeting (Weds. April 5, 6pm)

Dear Starchild and otherLibertarians,
Great idea about "Neighbors for Property Rights."
I'll mail you a bunch of anti-eminent domain petitions if you tell me
how many you want and where to mail them. Or we could bring them to your
monthly meeting on April 8th. All of our friends, both conservative and
liberal and all of our neighbors have signed the petition. No one that we
know personally has turned us down. About 80% of strangers we ask, also,
sign. It's a great conversation starter and would be an especially good
way for a candidate to start a discussion with people.
From your e-mails, I see that you are involved with a group in the
Bayview. In fact, our group met with a group in the Bayview and was
interviewed on their radio station because Bayview property owners are
very worried about their neighborhood since almost the whole zipcode has
recently been declared a "redevelopment area." I think with the new light
rail line on Third Street and the new housing development planned for the
Naval Shipyard, the developers are seeing a chance to "upscale" the
neighborhood regardless of how many people they displace.
Let us know about the petitions.
Bob and Marge
