Thanks Steve. The reason I like and will continue to use the
"non-traditional couple" term is that it is more inclusive of
transgender and other people who may or may not be same sex. The term
also allows for situations where a child and parent might decide to
marry....and other non-traditional types of arrangements we are trying
to address in this forum. With all due respect to our gay brothers and
sisters, I believe this is more than a gay issue.
While homosexuality has been around for a long time as you say, it has
always been the exception, not the rule. By the way, Matrimony is not a
"custom" and did not begin with the Catholic Church. It is a Sacrament
given to men and women by G_d and it began with the first human beings.
The Catholic Church only developed a ritual to celebrate it.
