Economic Left/Right: 6.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.49

We're not far apart....

Dear Mike and Mike;

I re-did the test and thought about the questions so a new test results:

  Economic Left/Right: 7.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62

Moves me down to the right corner - whatever that is supposed to mean.

I scored:

Economic Left/Right: -0.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.26

However, I could not understand how some of the questions relate, even
remotely, to politics:

Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at
all.
Astrology accurately explains many things.
Some people are naturally unlucky.
No one can feel naturally homosexual.
It is important that my child's school instills religious values.

I especially wonder how the following question gets evaluated?

Making peace with the establishment is an important aspect of maturity.

At 56, I STILL have not made peace with the establishment, but I have
changed who gets the blame. Different radicals throw rocks at windows in
the financial district, patrol the border ourselves, smash liquor stores in
West Oakland, throw eggs at George W Bush, refuse to pay taxes, hoard
weapons, and burn draft documents. Perhaps the answer to the question
above should muliply the values of the others.

I'm Econ 5.50/Social -6.00, in the lower right.

I expected more poor assumptions about the state, but other than two
questions about schools that seemed to imply government schools, it seemed
pretty good on that score. Could be more broadly balanced, I think, but
that's true any time you have to choose a small(ish) set of questions.

I'd be interested to know if there are any correlations between results on:

and these political quizes.
