Indeed. Another solution would be for those who are sympathetic to Olga's plight to donate one of their own kidneys and/or personally sponsor all her medical care. From what I read in the article, there appears to be no law against undocumented immigrants receiving donated organs, only against taxpayer funded programs paying for the transplants and subsequent care.
Regarding LPSF's Tax Day, I envision the purpose of our panel discussion to be about ways to reduce workers' and investors' tax burden by reducing the size government, privatizing services, holding individuals accountable for their own choices, encouraging private charity and voluntarism, encouraging self reliance.
Starchild, as we indicated at the LPSF meeting, if you (or anyone else) can formulate a specific topic tying your idea of taxing undocumented immigrants without their having representation through voting in elections with the ways to reduce or eliminate taxes, please let us all know.
Taxation without representation is an important topic, but for such topic to have productive meaning -- not simply elicit aimless discussion and a lot of belly aching, as we discussed at the LPSF meeting -- we need to clearly indicate what laws need to be changed and what are the consequences (decreasing or increasing the size and reach of government) of any changes.
