Oops, inadvertently left some words out of one of the lines below – should have read, "From the standpoint of winning the election, it appears the GOP made a big collective mistake in nominating him..."
I see two separate subjects here: 1. The main-party candidates are so strange that an unprecedented chance to at least severely dent the two-party charade has arisen. 2. Trump might succeed in breaking the neocon invasion of the GOP, which would be great, but does nothing to break up the two-party system.
But it's all good! If the minor parties and the Trump supporters don't blow these opportunities.
