Public Access TV/Training Workshops

  You seem to have a couple typos in there. Here's what I believe is the

  There seems to be an orientation meeting scheduled for Saturday, July
16, although it doesn't say what time. I guess you have to call them to
find that out. But I'm potentially interested in going. Anyone else?

P.S. - While I appreciate being made "Walking Tours Chair," I'd rather
not accumulate an extra title, but just lead the project in my capacity
as Outreach Director.

Thanks for the correction of the Public Access TV workshop address.
This is what I see in the instructions:

1. Orientation: Free. Call 415-575-4949 or drop in at 1720 Market
at Valencia St to register; leave a voice message, and they will
either call you back or e-mail you indicating whether or not there is
room in the class date you specified. Classes are 2 hours. Current
schedule is July 16, August 20, September 27.

2. Workshops: There is a fee for each workshop of $65/$85. You
must take the orientation prior to taking the workshops. In the
workshops you learn how to use the equipment and how to film so you
can do your own programs. To register you must go to 1720 Market in
person and bring cash or check.

I would think we would need *at least* three volunteers to take the
Orientation and maybe one workshop, depending on what is learned in
the Orientation. Mike Denny has taken the Orientation, but I
understand he has passed on management of the shows to Phil; I
believe Phil said he had not yet taken the Orientation. I will
volunteer as a backup person to take the Orientation; I will call
today for the July 16 or the August 20 class to see if they have room
and/or whether only Mike and Phil are allowed to take the classes.

Starchild, I think it would be great if you would call also and try
to get enrolled in an Orientation class.

starchild - I'm thinking about going. I spoke to Phil
after the meeting about my helping out with some of
the technical production issues where I can. I should
have time over the next few months to be involved more
(unlike the last 6mon). However, I wouldn't want to
bump anyone from getting a seat if the class is full.
If you do call them, feel free to put me on the list.
(assuming it doesn't start at 7am :slight_smile:
