What Rossiter doesn't recognize is that conservatives also have a parent
model of the state; they just have a different morality they want to
impose by force, as I argued in my Liberty article 2 years ago:

Lakoff recognizes this much, and argues that the liberal nurturant
parent is better than the disciplinary conservative parent; he just
doesn't see any alternative social arrangements that wouldn't make
citizens children.
