PHIL NEEDS MORE SIGNATURES

Phil still needs lots of signatures to get on the primary ballot
for his Congress run! He and Jawj have made a valiant effort over
the past several days but only have half the necessary signatures.

Unfortunately I work in Mountain View so I won't be able to do any
foot work during the week, but I can help sort the voter data for
anyone who volunteers.

Below I've listed the number of registered Libertarians in each
supervisorial district and each zip code to give you a sense of
the hardest-hitting areas to canvas.

The hard deadline is March 10, at which point 40-60 signatures are
required to get on the ballot. But TOMORROW is the deadline for
the $1,621 filing fee and every signature gathered BY TOMORROW
counts for more than $10 toward that fee -- that's $10 not coming
out of Phil's pocket (or gold investments)!

Phil has some blank petitions on his porch at 557 Sanchez St.
Please note, however, that the "signatures in lieu of filing fee"
petition form is only good until tomorrow, and after tomorrow ONLY
the "nominating signatures" petition forms may be used to collect
signatures. Phil can also email the forms to you.

Tonight I called all the registered Libertarians in zip code 94131 seeking signatures for Phil, and the first half dozen or so numbers from zip codes 94121 and 94110. I had started on 94121 first, but then found out that Mike Denny already called those numbers and wouldn't have time to do any more drive-bys tonight anyway, so I switched to people that might be in my supervisorial district.

Most people were not home and I left messages. Out of 50 or so calls, I spoke to six individuals who were willing to sign Phil's petition. One is in 94121, whose contact info I gave to Mike. I think he was going to try to go by the guy's house tonight to get his signature. One is in 94109 -- she said she'd go by Phil's house to sign. The others I gave Phil's number, to coordinate a time and place to sign, and also gave him their numbers in case they don't call him. The guy in 94121 (Michael Minton) goes to SF State, and I had a brief but positive conversation with him. He may be interested in getting involved and even helping start a student group at SFSU.

I'd suggest sending each of these individuals packets including membership forms, if they aren't already LPSF members. Is Kelly still doing that or is it someone else now? Here's their contact info:

Some of the street names were unclear, as the list I was working off did not have the entire names of many streets printed out. I also have indicated on the lists many numbers which are incorrect or have been disconnected. This info should be entered into the database by whoever is doing that. Whoever would like my notes, please let me know and we can arrange that.

P.S. - Justin, I notice in your message below that you give what appears to be a breakdown of the number of registered Libertarians in each supervisorial district. But is it really possible that we have 285 reg-Libs in District 6 (represented by Chris Daly) and only 2 reg-Libs in District 7 (represented by Sean Elsbernd)? The numbers for districts 4 and 7 in particular seem out of wack with the rest of the list. Where did you get this data?

Oh, and sorry I missed your call -- my phone didn't ring. I think the

Starchild,

Thanks for all your work. You asked if Kelly is still sending info.
packets. I inherited that task from Kelly a while back. I will send
info packets to the people you listed. Thanks again!

Marcy
