I wrote this to Starchild just now, I hope he gets it in time but if not
I'll work with what we've got, if anybody else has anything to add for
today's press release, please post it ASAP!!

I changed my mind about writing this tonight, I felt awkward the night before that I posted without getting any feedback and I'd prefer to wait for the response from Starchild at least. Besides, I'm tired. I only feel a sense of urgency because I'm excited about seeing the movement grow but no need to push things. Peace and Love to all and goodnight!!

Read the comments of Joey Cain in this article…exactly what he said today. Additionally he said he wasn’t trying to make things difficult for the Parade committee…he just wanted them to admit they made a mistake and move on

Mike,

Thanks for your work on this for Outright, and sorry not to get back to you last night. I'm in the process of uploading the video Mike Denny took of me speaking at the rally yesterday to YouTube (thanks, Mike!) I'm not super familiar with the process, having only uploaded a couple videos before, and it seems to be taking a while, but hopefully I will have a URL for you soon. In the meantime I will watch it again and try to write down some quotes you can use. If you get this, give me a call at your convenience, (415) 625-FREE, and perhaps we can go over the press release.

I also called the Pride offices to complain about director Lisa Wiliams' action. The office assistant who answered the phone told me she couldn't talk about it or answer questions, but advised me to put my concerns in writing. She was nice enough, but wouldn't even say whether she didn't know the answers to my questions, or did know but was being prohibited from answering. I said that trying to restrict the flow of information and control the message is not what SF Pride needs to be doing right now -- what they need to do is come clean, because their lack of transparency is not engendering trust or support in the community. People want to know who cast what votes for Grand Marshal and exactly what the process and sequence of events was, not a lot of spin! She did tell me that they have been getting "hundreds of emails". I told her this is just the beginning if they don't do the right thing by honoring Bradley Manning!

The number for the SF Pride office is (415) 864-0831, and their email (which the assistant told me goes to office manager Lucky Gutierrez) is info@... .

Please spread this information around and urge people to both call *and* email. Their phones need to be ringing off the hook!

Love & Liberty,

Starchild...yes please get that speech up so people can see it. It was one of the best of the entire event. You really called out Lisa Williams for being the corporate shrew she is. It was great the crowd was totally into what you were saying...very encouraging. Whoda thunk Pride management would ever be so establishment, corporate and concerned about what power and public opinion have to say. I was filming the first parade with John Carlson, credited in the movie "Milk" for footage we shot together. The parade has "come a long way baby" but maybe not for the better since the Anita Bryant/Harvey Milk days.

Starchild really got "Libertarian" into the conversation and punched the Democratic establishment square in the nose. I don't know if anyone noticed but when one of the speakers mentioned "democracy" introducing her, her first words were "You know some of us aren't Democrats up here". For all the Democratic party activity in this town, there is still a lot of rebellion. This situation really has the potential to be something very "political" and exciting.
