Dear Everyone; A very distributing report which was just released by PEW Center - Welcome to Prison Amerika. These figures are based on the adult population. Figure the traditional $25,000 per incarcerated inmate in annual cost factors and multiply by 1.6 million. Then don't forget the cost of medical care which put California prisons into a trustee receivership because of lousy medical care. Are we really getting the right bang for the billion bucks. We need to repeal all drug laws, victimless crime laws and a host of other laws as there are way too many laws on the books as part of the politican get me elected and I'll lock 'em up mentality.
