A reader might be excused for thinking the "octopus" in this case was a metaphor for the Department of Agriculture or something, except that probably would have cost more than $80,000. As bizarre and ludicrous as it is, my best guess is that you're talking about an actual octopus. If so, this is definitely one for the annals! Along with the studies involving fish on treadmills and a flying monkey – I'd like to read about those too. Please share links if you've got 'em!
