New national database of corrupt cops

USA Today and its affiliates have gathered records of police officers who've lost their law enforcement certification in 44 states:

According to Reason, these states do not include California, which apparently does not try to screen out officers who screwed up badly enough to get on the list from being rehired at other law enforcement agencies:

This suggests that it could be a worthwhile effort for some other media outlet(s) or group(s) interested in police accountability to review the names of current law enforcement officers in California to see whether any of them appear in this 44-state bad cop database.
