Naming an SF Libertarian TV show

Ron,

I don't agree that the word "Libertarian" has to be part of the title for it to be effective. We could always say something about it being libertarian in a subtitle, or the show's description. We will obviously be letting our hardcore audience (activists/members/reg-libs) know it's a Libertarian show anyway, and the average San Franciscan might be more likely to tune in if the word "Libertarian" *isn't* part of the title. On the other hand, "The Libertarian Revolution" wouldn't make a bad choice, imho. Most of the others you list below sound a bit dry to me.

Dear Starchild and Mike;

The word Libertarian needs to be in the title of the show. You have to let people know there is such a thing as a Libertarian. Secondly, are there any statistics available on who or whom the viewers are? Is it mainly an SF audience? Or is it viewed demographically elsewhere?

As far as the title " The Progressive Libertarian! " I don't believe this would imply most Libertarians are not progressive. It's the audiences interpretation that is important. However, the name Libertarian still needs to be highlighted. This is who we are - this is who the sponsors are etc etc etc

Some alternative names could be:

Equality and the Libertarian The Libertarian and Personal Freedom

The Libertarian Heritage The Laissez-Faire Libertarian The Libertarian Way

The Libertarian Future The Libertarian Revolution

Or to be very simple: The San Francisco Libertarian

SF Libertarian

Mike,

The 7-730pm Wednesday time slot sounds great! I like Ron's idea of
co-opting the term "progressive," but "The Progressive Libertarian!"
could imply that most Libertarians *aren't* progressive.

"The Libertarian Alternative" is a great name, in my opinion, but
obviously we need a different name if we're doing our own show. Here
are a few other ideas:

The Government Zone (Intro to show would be a parody of "The Twilight
Zone")
Liberty, For A Change (e.g. "I'm Mike Denny, here with Liberty, For A
Change...")
Free The People!
The Progressive Alternative
Voice Of The City
Get Up, Stand Up! (Refers to classic Bob Marley song lyrics, "Get up,
stand up, stand up for your rights..." etc.)
Speak Out San Francisco! (This would be good for a street-oriented
show, where we go around talking to people about how government
negatively impacts their lives)
