Sorry to hear of your difficulties with the Ethics Commission. Government programs like that always sound so noble and well-intentioned when they are proposed, don't they? No one ever seems to imagine that these kinds of scenarios might be the result. Too often it is simply assumed that establishing a new program or agency for the purpose of promoting fairer and more ethical government will do just that. I hope that we can learn to be more skeptical as voters, and when something sounds good, to stop and think about what possible unintended consequences there could be.
