My speech at Coalinga State "Hospital" (Prison) Protest (March 2, 2008)

For anyone seeking to become a better public speaker, I highly recommend watching video footage of yourself speaking. In seeing this particular clip, I'm reminded again that I have a bad habit of saying "you know" too much, and to sometimes sway back and forth! I also tend to speak off the cuff, which sometimes results in disjointed or rambling points that don't string together nicely. Nevertheless I think I got across fairly well the point about the importance of solidarity among the politically oppressed, and I'm glad that someone from the LP was present to represent at this groundbreaking protest against the detention in a "hospital" of 700 men labeled as "sex offenders" who have already served out their entire sentences yet continue to be held against their will in Coalinga.
