Yeah, for an on-air conversation with a candidate for Congress, this interview got pretty surreal at times! I laughed out loud more than once. But overall I thought Phil did all right and held his own.

Phil, I'm not even going to criticize you for getting into the history of the monetary system. I was surprised you managed to barely mention gold at all! By framing it in terms of "I've been told not to talk about this stuff because it will go over peoples' heads," you not only give respect to your listeners, but also give the material an air of "forbidden knowledge" that will make people more interested. Given your passion for and knowledge about the subject, I think that's exactly the right approach.

I would recommend that you not spend an entire interview talking about that stuff though. And a few more direct hits on Nancy Pelosi wouldn't hurt either. There's plenty of material out there. Give people some specific reasons not to vote for her.

Yours in liberty,

Phil:

I marvel at your patience. Pam: "So this is part of that whole socialist line". Phil: "What whole socialist line" Pam: "This Libertarian thing"

Starchild, could I ask to you for your
favorite things I should blast Ms. Pelosi for
that would reverberate with the voters and
differentiate libertarian principles.
Others please chime in.
As for the radio interview, it was my first
one as a libertarian. As a liberal in college
working for the Missouri Public Interest
Research Group, MoPIRG, a Ralph Nader
subsidiary, I went on
KK (left speaker)
SS (right speaker)
Stereo (left speaker)
in (right speaker)
Black (left speaker)

with the over the top flamboyant Gentry
Trotter on the Sunday Afternoon
public service show. I completely made
up the idea of environmental racism right
then and there to get the listeners to
oppose the Calavaras Nuclear power
plant. The MoPIRG switchboard lit up the
next day with volunteers.
I was a very dangerous liberal.
Fortuanately, I soon was preoccupied with
more enjoyable pursuits.
I like Pam and respect her for what she
does.I heard her before and when I met
her at a Hunters Point anti death penalty
rally that Mike Denny suggested I go to, I
asked her if I could be on her show.

She acts as a human buffer in a no mans
land between gangs in Hunters Point,
doing her drum beat thang on Saturday
night. These gang wars are serious and
deadly.
In the future, I will try to hone my message
and repeat it frequently and most certainly
leave out the extraneous personal stuff.
