I have to say that beginning to even approach the politics and meet
the political personalities has been utterly repugnant. It makes me
feel dirty. Thats why I had to step away from the whole thing for
awhile. It amazes me that people put so much faith in our government
when the characters are so utterly repugnant. I rember I lunched
intimately with Art Agnos and the shorensteins once, and felt the need
for frequent showers for weeks. Well, refreshed from the break, I don
my protective clothing and gas mask and ewwnter the ring. Our
wonderful California Party political chair's busniess is selling small
firms access to lexus using his extra friendly front end. He offerd it
free to me for one month at our last conserstion. I will follow up.
The legalities are far more complex and entrenched than i ever
imagined. As my opened minded liberal friend said, this is a perfect
example of the arterial schlorosis of the American Economy. We do not
see the really bad results here because theunfortunates who lose jobs
or fall behind inflation are either winners in the welfare lottery or
move back to the hindterland. Thus the illustion that all is ok with
the regulated welfare state can continue. But I think this issue could
tap into a reservior of discontent, especially among the chinese, and
latin voters. My apologies for reacting negatively to the little bit
of adversity encountered so far. but I did come up with a great new
saying after my liberal union school teacher told me I was cynical
about the role of the transit union in increasing Jitney liability
requirements... Just because I am cynical, soes not mean that they are
not corrupt.
