These are good suggestions. I'll still have to find the actual laws in the code, so if anyone cares to volunteer to look a stupid law they or someone else suggested, that would be great. I found a site where the whole thing is posted and you can look through it pretty easily:

I've been contacted by a reporter with the California Connection
newsmagazine (never heard of it) looking for examples of stupid laws
in
San Francisco. For some reason Ned Roscoe, our erstwhile gubernatorial
candidate, told her I was an expert on this! 8) Of course I'm not, but
I
don't mind if it will get some press.

Anyway, she's supposed to call back, so I'm trying to find some
material
for her. Please let me know ASAP if you're aware of any local statutes
that the average person would see as dumb. (I know, the reality is
that
at least 90% of the laws are dumb, but at least 90% of the people are
too dumb to realize it. Actually I don't think people are dumb, but it
was fun to say that!)

I'm busy poring over the municipal code -- talk about a bureaucrat's
wet
dream! Pages and pages and pages of "unlawful" this and that...
