LPSF TV show

I wasn't at the meeting where it was voted not to renew the show, however I did later ask via email about the reasoning behind that decision. To the best of my recollection, there wasn't any reason beyond our uncertainty whether the episodes are being aired and whether anyone is watching.

Someone mentioned at one point that our show wasn't on during one particular time slot when it was supposed to be on. I would suggest that this person let Dina (whose email is below) at the TV station know about what we should at this point assume was simply an oversight or honest screw-up, and ask what can be done to ensure the show runs when it is supposed to run.

It seems to me that this is very low-cost exposure for us, and something positive we can talk about doing to those who want to know what we're up to locally. I suggest we reconsider our vote, take Mark up on his offer, and run more episodes, unless there is some better reason for not doing so. I know some people do watch public access TV, because I've had random people tell me they've seen me on it (when I've testified at City Hall meetings that were aired). I don't mind running the tapes over to the station or renewing our show as needed.

I can give you some shows on DVD, you would have to transfer them if that is needed, if they take DVD then you are in luck. Were should I send them?

Hi All,

I understand the membership voted not to renew the TV show. However, I am forwarding the information below just in case.

BTW, I have a small box with some tapes. If anyone would like to have it, please let me know.

Time Slot Renewal Opportunity

Thank you for airing or sponsoring a series on Access SF. Your playback
application is nearing completion. The timeslot you selected will expire
next month. That means if you want to continue to air your series, you
should attend the timeslot meeting ONE MONTH BEFORE you expire to air
without interruptions in scheduling. Also please know that the
responsibility for keeping track of when your timeslot expires is yours.
If you do not renew your playback application in time, your timeslot will
expire.

The next timeslot meeting is schedule for Monday January 29 at 7:00pm.

ONLY the producer/sponsor who is an Access SF member can attend timeslot
meetings. For special arrangements to have someone else attend on your
behalf, please contact us. You must have a completed Playback Application
signed by you, your membership must be up to date, and we require proof
of residency for every playback application submitted.

Responsibility for maintaining your timeslot is also yours. Having a
history of late tape drop offs, no shows, lack of fresh programs, or not
maintaining minimal technical standards can lead to canceling your
timeslot.

If you have any questions, please contact the Programming Coordinator at
sam@accessf.org

Thank you
