SF Pride is always the last weekend in June (or at least for the past few
decades), so this year that's June 26-27, 2010.
I've purchased the booth space, and the times/locations will likely be
identical to last year (which was identical to the year before), though they
never confirm the booth location or setup / break down times until just a
few weeks before. I can bring all of the materials, like last year (I'm so
proud of my little cart that holds the whole thing and lets me take Muni
underground to get there and avoid the traffic/parking nightmare of Pride
mornings and evenings). All I really need at minimum is the occasional
person to watch the booth while I grab lunch or run to the restroom. Of
course, if we can have 3 or 4 people there at all times for the two days,
that would be fantastic -- definitely more fun than me standing there by
myself for several hours.
I suppose the first thing to ask is: Who is willing to spend ANY time
volunteering at the Pride booth?
If we get more than a half-dozen volunteers, I'll set up a formal timetable
so we can make sure all "shifts" are covered, but if it's just a few
volunteers like usual, we can organize more informally.
Biggest benefit of us just doing the booth and not the parade this year --
no safety training drama!
