LPSF Posters

I can probably safely roll up a dozen -- 2 for display and 10 to
exchange for donations -- and bring them with me tomorrow morning. And
if we start running short, I can run home for more. Otherwise, someone
with a vehicle will need to pick up any larger quantities.

But if we give them out at the Pride tent, we really have to be ready to
give them away for free. As you said, we can't sell anything with the
permits we got, and with the experience of last year's foam Statue of
Liberty visors, there are plenty of freeloaders at Pride who simply
can't be pressured into any suggested donation. We'll give it to them
for free or risk sanction by the Pride organizers. In the case of the
visors, we just considered the expense a good investment for the new
contacts (though not good enough to repeat this year).

The good thing about letting people pick them up for free at the LPSF
meeting or by sending us $10 S&H by PayPal to have us mail them one
(USPS Priority is $4.60, and the mailers are free) is that we're likely
to end up recovering most of the $1000 cost (and since we'll have to pay
Muni/BART/etc. for ad space to have these displayed, that money will
come in handy).

Let me know what you all decide to do in this regard. Unless I hear
otherwise, I'll roll up a dozen and bring them with me. If you want to
give away more than that, someone with a vehicle will need to pick them
up and get them to the booth before 9am.

P.S. I'm willing to store these for a little while, but they'll
definitely need to find a new home by September. I think Phil is
researching what it would cost for LPSF to rent a small self-storage
closet that all 4 officers could have keys to (so that, for example, one
member going to NH during Pride won't strand us without tables, banners,
etc.). Again, though, a bigger weakness of LPSF than our lack of
storage space appears to be how few of us have cars. This is why we've
opted for buying lightweight outreach materials like those roll-up camp
tables that can be carried over one's shoulder on Muni if necessary.
Perhaps a plastic poster tube or two is in order?
