LPSF Meeting 6/11/05 Open Items

Hi All,

So, this time, tons of people showed up. We had six guests (if you
count the two-month old baby). Very spirited meeting!!

Because there was so much in the agenda, a lot moved to the e-
mail/telephone level. Here is the list of open items:

1. Pride Celebration: coordination of who picks up what from whom,
and brings to the booth. Schedule to ensure booth coverage and march
participation.

2. Libertarian Cable TV show: Phil Berg to provide help to Mike
Denny to see whether we can continue the show.

3. Newsletter: Thank you to Justin Sampson and Phil Berg for
voluntering to be editors. Hopefully some form of newsletter, either
print or electronic will go out every two months or so.

4. The Ghandi Militia: Phil Berg and other volunteers. Devising an
Activists' rapid response network that can call volunteers to action
when there is an impending pot club raid (or for that matter, any
other event that could use the Libertarian perspective). Possible
mediums: cell phone text messaging, or computers.

5. Pit Bulll letters: I have sent the e-mails tonight, and will
send the letters tomorrow. (thank you to Jawj for bringing this
subject to our attention and writting the letter).

6. Action in response to subject of "Constituency Based Marketing":
Volunteers meet prior to the next LPSF meeting to review the strategy
and put forth concrete alternatives.

Mike, Justin feel free to call re open issues, 305 8755
Mike, I can keep the concrete heer in my garage for a few weeks if
that would help.

As for the Ghandi Ghonja Militia, I few it as a terrific outreach and
education tool. Participants would affirm that they will not
initiatiate violence for any reson.
The name is available as is ggmsf. Ten bucks gets us both. We start
off with a google blog, a yahoo group and then our own website..
People can join the yahoo group to get info. they can join as aliases
or just lurk until we get a really secure and encrypted way to contact
people. The basic idea comes from the phenomena of flash mobs. The
ability to rapidly assemble large numbers of people at any given place
and time on very short notice using the communication power and
security of the internet. The authorities will try to mess it up, so
ultimately we will need secure encryted and redundant sytems of
notification. We would exercise our First Amendment Right to peacably
assemble in as large a number as possible. Ideally we could detect a
raid and assemble people before the faschists are finished. A large
number of people peacable assembled could physically block the ability
of the fascists to steal property and remove it from the premises. We
would have many copies of the Constitution, the minority opinion in
gonzales, as written by Judge Thomas and the Bill of rightsd with
empais on the first, and nine amendements, as well as the repeal of
Prohibition. As many ppeople as possible wwould bring cell phone
cameras, didital cameras and digital videio recorders or regular
recorders. there would be varios brigades of more motivated activists
who would form the phalanx that bravely resisted non violently and
risked near certain arrest. We would be trined in non violence protest
tactics. I will call that the Peter McWilliams Brigade.
The friends of GhandiMGonjaMilitia would appear too but remain at a
distance to abserve but avoid arrest. The internet could be used for
surveillance. Webcams could be set up at each club, and bradcast to a
public surveillance camera. when the club was open the webcams could
be shut, but ready in case something happened. Ehen the club eas
closed the webcams would serve as warning devices to a public site
that would be monitored by a phalanx of volunteers. Suspicious
axtivity indicating a bust in progress would elicit a checking and
then a notivication process. The Feds would surely try to jam the
webcams, that in itself would be a tipoff. The cams could be set to
multiple internet carriers including satellite cell phone, dial up dsl
and cable modem. A way would have to be devised to make sure the feds
didn't pull a trick like Kianu Reeves did in Speed when he replaced
the webcam feed with a video loop. Of course if The DEA has any
agents as cute as Keanu, forget the whole thing, I'm going to join the
DEA. As we get more internet savvy and security savvy people on board
we should be able to get lots of people to join up and make themselves
accessible to notification with complete security in the fact the Feds
can't find out who they are and harrass them pre maturely.. It is time
we started taking back the rights guaranteed to us by the Declaration
of Independance and the Constitution. We have a right to Life, liberty
and as much as the neo cons hate it the pursuit of happicess. Our
government was established for the whole purpose of protecting those
rights. These three words, more than any others are what makes America
unique in the world. The DEA is in it's very existence, a clear
violation of the our right to the pursuit of happiness, it's powers
are not enumerated in the Constitution and therefore a violation of
the Ninth Amendment. As an illegitimate and estra constitutional
force of tyranny, the DEA must be opposed by any thinking freedom
loving American who believes in the priciples and laws of our nation.
We can not sit still and let the forces of fascist statism eat away at
our liberty bit by bit. Millions are jailed by these illegitimate
laws. The tenants ofllimited government, upheld by seperation of
powers between the federal State and local governments heve been
bulldozed over by this agency. Our bodies are sovereign, our lives are
sovereign, and it is the obligation of government to protect our life
and liberty, not destroy it.

At the flash protests wwe all should carry xopies of the Constitution,
the bill of rights and Thomas's dissent. The DEA agents should be
reminded about the oath they took when they signed up. They did not
take an oath to George Bush. They did not take an oath to uphold the
law. They took an oath like every public official from the President
on down to the lowliest GS 1 clerk takes... To abey, protect and
defend the Constitution.

So we begin the easyy way with Hoogle Blog and Yahoo Group. plus our
own web site. We elicit volunteers to improve the infrastructure. We
solicit the pot clubs to participate. I guess this should be first
before the groups and website go public. We build up the volunteer
base. We have a test and invite the press if a lot of people show up.
We do training and education at the test. And we go on from there.
The rapid responsse system can in time be used to educate the public,
embarass the fascists, and defend our liberties as needed. Any
questions???
