LPSF at City College Rally

Thanks for sending Marcy...Starchild is looking good.

For those who missed the Channel 7 News today, here is a video. If the link does not work for you, go to the KGO 7 website San Francisco, "San Franciscans will have to decide whether to help City College or not.".

I wonder if the issue would have been a question at all had we not made a fuss about the Accreditation Report and the assault on taxpayers' pockets. There are so many more money wasters we could go after in this town !!

Marcy, please cover your eyes for a moment.

Fuckin’ A, LPSF! That kicked ass!!!

Marcy, you can uncover your eyes now.

Starchild, good job! You handled that interview spectacularly, and
you and LPSF in general set the stage perfectly with the opposition
arguments.

CCSF has messed up big time, and that news piece was really
well-handled. Marcy, you make the point well that going after the
accreditation report was a great political point. I was pleased to
learn from that news item that teachers (real colleges call them
“professors”) have accepted pay cuts, and that things are being
restructured, but good on LPSF for leading the charge against a tax
hike to pay for all this silliness.

I still wish you would all move to New Hampshire, but in the
meanwhile, you are doing a great job. Kudos.

Hi Chris,

Right on, and thank you! Clearly, having good quotes chosen by the person doing the editing makes all the difference. I thought I gave a good overall interview, but I'm sure other bits could have been chosen that wouldn't have been nearly as effective. Getting selected as the official opponent on those four ballot measures has definitely been paying off for us this season.

Speaking of New Hampshire, do you know when/where the winter FSP conference is this year? Anything going on up there shortly before or after November 16-18 that you're aware of? I'll be in D.C. then for the next Libertarian National Committee meeting, and could conceivably spend more time back east if there was a good reason to do so.

By the way, you probably know that discussions about moving the LP headquarters and possibly purchasing a new building for this purpose are ongoing and moving forward. I can see advantages to keeping the office somewhere in Washington D.C., but rents are high there and sentiments may favor relocating outside the Beltway. My feeling is that if the national office is to relocate outside D.C., New Hampshire would probably make more sense than just about anywhere else because of the Free State Project and the potential for advancing liberty there.

If you or others in NH would like to see this happen, scouting possible locations and lobbying the LNC could be useful. Perhaps an official letter could be sent on behalf of the FSP or other activists encouraging the LP to locate its office to the Free State? The most important consideration with regard to the office as far as I'm concerned is not *where* it is however, but *what* it is (see attached "LP Office Manifesto" document for more of my thoughts on this, if you haven't read it already or want to refresh your memory). I also more recently suggested another idea that could be used in conjunction with naming a new building after the LP's late co-founder, David Nolan, as has been proposed (see email below), and would tend to look favorably on a building proposal that was able to incorporate this idea.

Love & Liberty,

The Liberty Forum[*] is 21–24 February this coming year.

If you don’t have plans for Thanksgiving, I’m sure you could find
friendly Porcupines with whom to celebrate. See also the
PorcCalendar[†], FreeKeene calendar[‡], and Seacoast Liberty[§] for NH
happenings.

If you or others in NH would like to see this happen,

I am not currently in NH... Rich Tomasso would really be the person to
make that happen, if it were to happen.
