[LPC County Officers] Membership Report Oct 2005

Yes, it is very useful data, especially if we can verify it. Does the figure of 116 current LPSF members correspond to how many members are receiving our newsletter? How about the reported loss of eight members, down from 124 -- does this match our records? If there are any discrepancies, we should make sorting them out a priority.

Assuming we did actually lose eight members recently and can determine who they are, I volunteer to personally call them and try to get them to rejoin, if applicable (some may have died and others may have moved outside the city). For those who have moved elsewhere, we should try to find out their new locations and inform the appropriate county or state chapters.

Beyond these folks, I'd also like to do some general calling of the membership just to touch base and let folks know some of what's been going on. I don't think the list has been called in a while.

I'm not sure whom in the LPSF this should go to, but I'm sure you two can be trusted with confidential membership information. Note that this does not include lapsed members. I'll try to work up a list with the lapsed members too.

It appears that both the 124 and 116 numbers include current donors who have not signed the pledge and therefore are not members. National has been very fast and loose with this since the RE conversion. Once I'm able to verify this, I will post a corrected report to the county officers list if appropriate.

Of course, we need to get this automated. For now, I'm trying to cope by hand.

I assume you both have OpenOffice. If you don't, it is free software that you can download from http://www.openoffice.org/ for Linux and Microsoft or http://www.neooffice.org/ for Mac.

We did not have a reliabile database due to problems with National's
records for quite a while, so I do not see how we can find out who
was on the list before but left the LPSF. But, I have some records
from way back when Bryce was providing the memberships about to
expire, and I will try to make a list of the disappeared. Unless,
LPCA can provide the old list....?

I would like to resume e-mailing/snail mailing the people about to
lapse, as I did before the database got useless. But I am too shy to
call anyone, so that will have to be done by braver souls.

Maybe we can set some ideas down at the meeting today in the 10
minutes we have for Development and Outreach comabined.
