Dear Friends,
As promised, here we are reporting to you how the LPSF fared today (Thursday 17th) with our ballot arguments. LPSF Chair, Aubrey Freedman submitted to the Department of Elections this morning arguments on Proposition A ($350 million bond for “Public Health and Safety”), Proposition B (set aside for “Park, Recreation and Open Space”), Proposition C (“Affordable Housing Requirements”), and Proposition AA (regional parcel tax for S.F. Bay restoration).
We are delighted to report that the Elections Department lottery picked the LPSF as the official opponent on Propositions A, B, and AA. These propositions may have been written with good intentions; however, the trail of downsides they carry needs to be indicated to voters. Information on all proposals for the June election can be found here: http://sfgov.org/elections/local-ballot-measure-status
LPSF Chair Aubrey said it well: “So, at this point, I’m quite satisfied with the results, and there’s no need to spend tons of money on paid arguments. Our viewpoint is represented in 3 out of the 6 ballot measures and will be seen by several hundred thousand voters, so that’s a pretty good deal.”
Now some of us will turn our attention to rebuttals to proponent arguments for submission on Monday, March 21st.
And some of us will start promoting the LPSF upcoming 3rd Annual Panel Discussion of April 10, 2016. Please save the date! For details, visit our website www.lpsf.org http://www.lpsf.org/ or our Facebook Event Page https://www.facebook.com/events/956039184449764/
