Editor,
The Chronicle reports (Business, 6/17/08) that "the San Francisco Board of Supervisors is considering a law that would ban the sale of cigarettes and tobacco products in the city's drugstores." Wow! This is a brilliant idea! The "War on Drugs" has worked so well, at such a minimal cost, we should definitely expand it to cover cigarettes and tobacco. As soon as we make it difficult enough to legally buy or smoke tobacco products, everyone will stop smoking. And enforcing these laws won't cost taxpayers a dime! Why didn't I think of this? I guess I'm just not as smart as these Supervisors.
