Las Vegas shooter's shady past

Maybe this is old news to most people – I admit I didn't follow the story super closely – but one interesting tidbit I picked up in this piece about the Las Vegas mass shooting last October is an aside that the shooter, Stephen Paddock, was an IRS agent:

So evidently his record wasn't entirely devoid of any signs of misanthropy or anti-social behavior!

The piece also notes numerous irregularities about the investigation, along with the fact that they still haven't established a motive for the killings. I've seen nothing credible to suggest there was a conspiracy – hard to see any motive for that either – but the absence of certain photos, delayed release of an autopsy report, etc., do raise questions.

Here's a conspiracy theory for you: The authorities are deliberately doing incomplete or suspicious work in this high-profile case in order to fuel conspiracy theories so that anti-government folks (i.e. the good guys) will waste their time trying to research this, instead of paying attention to other incidents where those in power really are trying to cover up important stuff!
