On a related note, check out the Jonathan Rauch essay "on communism

seems to care" in the Atlantic (December -- not yet online) and its
immediate subject, <http://www.victimsofcommunism.org/>, the memorial
nobody seems to care about.

Thanks Chris,

I completely forgot about the Independent Institute's
panel discussion tonight.

The one at the Commonwealth Club sounds interesting,
as well. Both sound really relevant to me, especially
in today's times.

I now live in Oakland, so I'm inclined to go to the
Independent Institute. It would be great if one or
some of us attend one, and one or some of us attend
the other, and then give a summary on the discuss
list.

Thanks for the reminder.

I'm supposed to go to the Inforum thing as part of my committee obligations,
but I'm going to be busy with work commitments.
