Board of Supervisors' Public Safety Committee

When: Monday, June 11

Several gun-control measures will go before the Board of Supervisors Public Safety Committee on Monday before being heard by the full board.

The proposed new laws would prohibit the possession or sale of firearms or ammunition on county property, require that firearms located within a residence be kept in a locked container or secured with a trigger lock, require dealers to inventory firearms every six months and create a local registry of gun offenders convicted within The City.

San Francisco Silence the Violence Candle Vigil March

The Community Clean Team District 5 Kickoff

Please join Supervisor Mirkarimi, the Department of Public Works, and community volunteers this Saturday for the District 5 Community Clean Team kick-off. The event opens a month-long cleanup in District 5 to make sure the streets, parks, plazas and the neighborhood are clean, green and graffiti free.

The Community Clean Team is led by the Department of Public Works in partnership with SF Clean City, SF Connect, the Recreation and Park Department, and community groups to keep the city clean, green and graffiti-free. Volunteers will help abate litter, paint out graffiti, clean tree basins, and remove weeds around the District.

Sunset Scavenger Company is providing Gigantic Three services to residents in District 5 on Saturday morning from 8 am to 12 noon at Ella Hill Hutch Center (1050 McAllister) to help them recycle, compost and drop off household bulky items.
