Garrison Quote

"Gradualism in theory is perpetuity in practice."--William Lloyd
Garrison.

Garrison was an abolitionist, not a gradualist, and was instrumental
in the abolition of slavery. He refused to compromise with the
gradualist anti-slavery movements of the time.

Best, Michael

Given that this issue (in large part) lead to the Civil War, is this a good argument against gradualism?

Yes it is. And the Civil War is an excellent argument against
government.
