Dear All;
I came across this quote from Gandhi and it seemed
to be stating what Libertarians need to be saying about
the "State" and our interactions with the "State".
"You assist an evil system most effectively by obeying
its orders and decrees. An evil system never deserves
such allegiance. Allegiance to it means partaking of
the evil. A good person will resist an evil system with
his or her whole soul."
~ Gandhi
The evil of Obamanomics and his moves both overt
and covert to centralize the government even further
into a fascist socialistic government if that was possible
and his minions condemning any right-wing activity of
any kind or any protestors against the government
and its policies as being done by internal terrorists
states the obvious and the need for another rebellion
against the government to take back our freedom and
liberty and independence and our reliance on ourselves
not the "State" for our well-being.
Oh yeah and we need to do this before all private ownership
of firearms and ammo is taken away or is so restricted as
to make owning a firearm and the ammo for it impossible
by Obama and his cohorts.

Ron,
That is a good quote. Do you have more specifics on where it came from?
Love & Liberty,
((( starchild )))
Dear Starchild;
Unfortunately I do not know where it was found among Gandhi's sayings or where originally written or when. But it is so pertinent to what is happening today which is why I sent it out.

Dear Ron,
Listening to the average person on the street, who invariably indicates his frustration with the State for not doing *more*, leads me to believe that the idea of the State as "evil" is not widespread.
So, my relativistic tendencies aside, I continue to hope for patient dialog a la Ron Paul.
Marcy
Dear Marcy;
Then the message about the states unsatiable appetitie for more and more needs to get spread more widely out there to dissuade those who in the error of their mindless ways believe the state can really help them by taking more and more from their pockets and giving less and less back to them.
Ron Paul not withstanding. Peace prosperity and freedom wirthout the state is best.

I'm reminded of this Bertrand Russell quote:
"One should respect public opinion insofar as is necessary to avoid starvation and keep out of prison, but anything that goes beyond this is voluntary submission to an unnecessary tyranny."
Dear Steve,
Just as relevant as Gandhi's quote and could be best described as providing enough lip service to keep ones body and soul from being rendered asunder until as such times as those predisposed to do the rendering get their comeuppance by those giving the lip service whilst they silently organize themselves as quietly as possible - underground even - to boot out the predisposed so the predisposed get their comeuppance which was probably past due.
