As you can see from the info below, only about a third of eligible San Franciscans voted. I was reading in the Guardian that the low turnout means it will be easier to qualify future ballot measures, as the number of signatures needed is based on turnout in the previous mayoral election. This presents a potential opportunity for us, if we are willing to do the work.
It is disappointing that bond measures A and D passed, especially as A reportedly had been behind in the polls, and that proposition E ("question time" for the mayor) was defeated. But it is good to see that proposition C passed, as it will make it harder for the supervisors to put measures on the ballot. Most of what they put on the ballot has been bad.
