An interesting "experiment" was conducted by SFPD last month and shows
why it's a really really bad idea to leave laptops (or any electronic
device) in a car.
They left a car parked on a San Francisco street with a laptop on the
front seat. Time between parking the car and someone breaking into it
and stealing the laptop: 90 seconds.
