Aubrey is trying to catch up with the pile of work at his desk after his absence for a week, so he asked me to convey his "yes vote" for endorsing Flash Gordon for BART Board. I also say "yes" after speaking with Flash on Monday just before the GGLR meeting. Starchild and Les have also agreed that an endorsement is OK. For the record, here is what I learned and reported to Aubrey (who was unable to attend the GGLR meeting):
Flash indicated that is his real name, he went to Gonzaga University in Washington State, has a masters degree, worked as an investment banker, had the medical marijuana store which was shut down, and is now an insurance agent. He also said that his family's roots in San Francisco go back to the 1800's, they were very community involved, and his Dad was City Councilman in Marysville, WA (I believe that is the town he mentioned). He indicated that he is a Libertarian (Big L), wants small government, and would like to introduce ways to start privatizing BART. He said he is very busy, but is thinking of a website (but did not mention much else in the way of campaigning). He was dressed like your typical investment banker, in white shirt, tie, and dark slacks and shoes.
Aubrey suggested that unless there are serious objections to the endorsement of Flash within the next day or so, we will post a brief note on the LPSF website indicating the endorsement.
