25) Libertarian options in the California recall
    Rational Review
    by Anthony Gregory

"Perhaps a smokers' rights campaign is a good strategy, especially in
a recall election when all a gubernatorial hopeful needs to win is a
plurality among many candidates. But I want my candidates to be
radical. In the off chance that a libertarian wins a governor's seat,
in any state, he or she better make some drastic changes. I don't
want to vote for a Libertarian, have a miracle put the candidate in
office, and then get a libertarian-leaning Republican, or a
Republican-leaning Libertarian. My expectations for the 'Party of
Principle' are different from those of others; I will only vote for a
Libertarian candidate who offers me what I want." (09/23/03)
