For the pro-War folks

  If one side over there was trying to protect individual liberty and
the other was not, it would be easy to pick sides, but obviously that's
not the case. The political debate over the current situation in Iraq
is not really about being pro- or anti- war. It's about being for or
against U.S. government involvement.

  I can't automatically side against the U.S. government, because it's
unclear to me that immediate U.S. government withdrawal from Iraq would
make things better rather than worse. It could simply have the effect
of handing power to a much worse government (whoever managed to seize
control after U.S. govt. troops departed), resulting in serious
oppression or an all-out civil war producing *more* horrible photos
like the one at the link below, rather than fewer. Even Michael
Badnarik was not calling for U.S. govt. troops to be pulled out
immediately. Did that make him "pro war?"
