At least they're consistent.
The Outright Libertarians outreach booth at San Francisco Pride will be in
the same location as the past two years (A31, on Grove in front of Bill
Graham Auditorium), and our set-up times are 6-9am both mornings (if you
need to bring a car in to drop something off -- I'm not aware of that need
-- but I do have a gate permit, so let me know if you need it), with
break-down at 6pm on Saturday and 7pm on Sunday. If you're not familiar
with our Pride outreach, it's a standard "Operation Politically Homeless"
booth where we give festival-goers the "World's Smallest Political Quiz" and
map their responses with foil stars on a big poster of the Nolan Chart.
(And if none of that made sense to you, see:
So, in an effort to organize volunteer time more effectively, I've created a
calendar on the LPSF Google Apps domain:
Just let me know what time(s) you'd like to volunteer 8-6 Saturday and/or
8-7 Sunday, and I'll add them to the calendar, so we can all see what times
still need volunteers. It's nice to have at least 2 people at any given
time, but more than 4 or 5 at any one time is probably excessive, so let's
try to spread out.
Oy!! I see a calendar all right, but nothing to post my volunteer hours. There is just so much blood you programmers can demand from us common folk! So, here are my hours: I volunteer to help set up, so tell me when you will be there, and I will be there same time. YES, I do want a car permit to schlep the brochures and posters. I commit to four hours, and if by then I am still in one piece, more.
PS, thanks for all you do!
Yep, that's the way to do it. Just email me your volunteer times, and I'll
add it myself. Only officers and committee chairs have logins to the Google
Apps domain to edit stuff. Everyone else is read-only.
Sorry for being relatively incommunicado. It looks like I'm going to
go with Terry Floyd to Mountain View on Saturday to do LP outreach at
the Vans Warped concert tour at Shoreline Amphitheater. That's a new
outreach opportunity we haven't been able to do before and also a big
repeating event, so it seemed worthwhile to check it out and hopefully
cement the connection to be able to have the LP there again in the
future. I'm available to work the booth on Sunday after or perhaps
also before the parade, during which I'll most likely march with the
Pink Pistols or SF Vegetarian Society contingent this year since LPSF
won't be in the parade (I have to check what their plans are).
Love & Liberty,
