Examiner poll on parking meters

The Examiner asks, "What’s the most you’d be willing to pay to park at a meter?" with the choices being:

$1.50 an hour
$3.50 an hour
$6 an hour

  I urge everyone to go to http://www.sfexaminer.com/?c=y&pollSubmitted=y&oid=1&mr=1&pid=36023019&cid=8500579&button=VOTE and vote for the lowest option (as 85% of respondents currently have!), in order to help keep taxes from going any higher. The poll is near the top of the left-hand side of the page.

I'm not sure how that would keep the city from raising taxes. They
could easily argue that, since people were willing to pay so little for
parking meters, they would _have_ to raise taxes. If we favor fees in
place of taxes, maybe we should be voting for the highest fees?
