My recollection is that he did it multiple times. After the first time,
Intel asked/ordered him not to use their e-mail systems any more, and
perhaps even took steps to block him; he persisted, obscuring his identity
to do so. I believe that is the electronic equivalent of trespass.

For the details on the Intel vs. Hamidi case see below. Basically the California State Supreme said Hamidi was not trepassing because Intel could show no damage to its computers from Hamidi's e-mails.
