EBL / Example of excellent planning

I am taking the liberty of forwarding to LPSF Activists the EBL
Discuss e-mail below (and hope EBL's do not mind). My intention is
to urge S.F. Libertarians to take similar actions as those described
in the EBL e-mail. I will summarize (in my own words) the links shown
on the e-mail: define purpose, define desired growth [if any], study
and segment the local market, target the segments most likely to

The LPSF has been targeting market segments all along, but in a more
informal and intuitive way than what is being pursued by EBL.
Predictably, growth has not been amazing. Perhaps the LPSF is stuck
in a catch 22 -- small membership base, thus no resources to engage
in growth activities. If you are interested in this subject, and
wish to contribute you ideas, please go for it!

As announced in the June 2005 Libertarian Lifeline, the East Bay
Libertarian Party will host a Success Planning Conference on Sunday,
June 12, 2005 at the Lafayette Veteran's Hall, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd.
in Lafayette, CA (at the corner of 1st Street and Mt. Diablo Blvd).
The conference will run from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In order to
prepare for the conference, we invite Libertarians to take a quick
survey to assist us in setting strategic priorities for the Party.
Just point your browser to http://lp.jimeyer.net and click on the
link to the survey at the lower left side of the page.

Please feel free to take the survey, whether or not you plan to
attend the conference. The more opinions we can gather, the better
data we will have at hand to develop a roadmap that truly reflects
the direction that members of the Party want to move toward.

The survey consists of only seven questions, so it will not take too
much of your time to complete, but it is very important that we
receive feedback from you on this project.

Thank you for your interest and support of the EBLP, and we
appreciate your assistance with this important task.

Terry Floyd, Treasurer
Libertarian Party of Alameda County
Treasurer Pro Tem
Libertarian Party of Contra Costa County
