I beg to differ, John, since I assume that when I sign a contract I understand it's terms and I will abide by them.

Marcy,
Yesterday I was on my phone and couldn't respond, but briefly.
I'm not sure what you disagree with. Are thinking that by signing a contract, the oyster farmer is somehow
signing-away the use of Drake's Bay as an oyster farm? A private individual signs away a local industry and national resource? That's crazy!!
What bearing does honoring a contract have on this discussion?
Meanwhile every statement I made is incontrovertible. We can only debate our relationship to the conditions and the course of action we take.
Do you disagree that we get to choose a course of action to determine which type of stewardship we want for public areas? Have you already determined that we should have no power or influence over the activities in our own area, so my position is irrelevant?
Your response is baffling. I would hope to see agreement on stated truths from which we could move forward.
John
