Don't Thank The Troops

Our Troops do NOT Protect Our Freedom and We Should Stop Thanking Them for Doing So

Thanks for the post, Michael. Yes, the soundbite that "the troops" are "protecting our freedom" is getting out of hand in my opinion. I just started reading Max Brooks' "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War." A little lame, so far, but one paragraph seemed to describe our current state of affairs: Narrator is quoting a professor he once had, "Fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe...Turn on the TV...What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." The fear of living without war has been well sold!
